A History of Water Installation, Excavating Services, and More

SWT Excavating, Inc. has a long history as a dependable provider of water installation, excavating services, and more for residential, business, and municipal applications. Scott W Taylor started the company in 1981, focusing on residential sewer and water connections in the Kalamazoo area. Twenty years later, in 2001, his son Scott M Taylor began working with the family business. His father taught him the trade and all aspects of the business.

They then purchased their first directional drill and began learning how to best use it to serve the needs of SWT’s customers. Then, in 2010, Scott M Taylor bought the business from his dad. As a way to pay respects to the origins of the company, the business incorporated and changed the name to SWT Excavating, Inc. Scott M Taylor then began obtaining municipal contracts with local communities utilizing the directional drill. Now using both the directional drill as well as traditional methods of excavating, the company continues to learn and grow to assist our customers with all their underground construction and connection needs.
